Program Accessibility

UC Davis Orientation is committed to providing full access to all of our programs and services for all students. Our staff works with the Student Disability Center (SDC) to meet the accommodations of any student participating in the program.

If you need an accommodation during Aggie Orientation, including medically necessary dietary modifications (e.g., dairy-free, food allergies), please contact the Student Disability Center at sdc@ucdavis.edu. Title the subject line of your email as “Aggie Orientation Accommodation Request” and describe your accommodation needs in as much detail as possible.

If you have a non-medical dietary modification (e.g., vegetarian, halal), you can reach out to us directly at orientation@ucdavis.edu. Otherwise, please direct all accessibility-related questions to the Student Disability Center.

Orientation Fees & Exemptions

Aggie 101, Aggie Advising, and Aggie Orientation are designed to give you the most successful start to your career at UC Davis. As such, all three parts are mandatory for all students. More details are available in our 2025 Winter & Spring Program Fees & Policies document.

The 2025 Winter & Spring Orientation fee is $55. Orientation is a self-supporting program, so the fee covers costs for, but not limited to:

  • Employment of student staff who serve as program managers and orientation leaders trained to support their peers and create personalized experiences.
  • Engagement of world-renowned faculty dedicated to your academic success and staff who support Orientation programming.
  • Materials, merchandise, and facilities for Aggie Orientation programs and activities.
  • Support of the Aggie 101 platform.

Exemptions

There are rare circumstances (i.e., serious illness, family emergency, active military duty) in which you may be exempt from the entire Aggie Orientation program. To be considered for an exemption, students must complete the Aggie Orientation Exemption Request Form. If a student's exemption request is approved, they will receive a full reversal of their Orientation fee. This processes applies to the on-campus Aggie Orientation program only. All students must complete Aggie 101 and Aggie Advising.

The deadline to complete the Aggie Orientation Exemption Request Form is December 1, 2024.

The Orientation Grant

Some students receive an Orientation Grant from Financial Aid to assist in covering the Orientation fee. The grant is offered to students based on their Student Aid Index (SAI), so there is no application process. Visit the Financial Aid website or contact their office for more information.
